6061 Aluminum Sheet for Boat Floor

The mechanical properties of the T6 state are higher than those of the T4 state.
The formability and corrosion resistance of this series of alloys are good. If the additive metal of appropriate composition is used, the weldability is not bad, but the disadvantage is that the welded joint becomes soft due to the influence of welding heat.
Boat floor is prone to water collection and condensation, and the exposed floor parts are in direct contact with the atmosphere and are subject to erosion by wind and rain, sun exposure, and alternating dry and wet seawater. Therefore, it is first required to have excellent corrosion resistance and water resistance. 5083 and 6061 aluminum diamond plate is often used.
The main alloying elements of 6061 aluminum sheet are magnesium and silicon, and form the Mg2Si phase. If it contains a certain amount of manganese and chromium, it can neutralize the bad effect of iron; sometimes a small amount of copper or zinc is added to improve the strength of the alloy without significantly reducing its corrosion resistance.
The main alloying element of 5086 pattern aluminum plate is magnesium, which has good forming performance, corrosion resistance, weldability, medium strength, and is used to manufacture ship hulls, decks, consoles, etc.
